Policy for waste management in RNM

Establishing a modern waste management system is a complex task, and although now is the time for integrated waste management, current measures are tailored to the needs of RNM, focusing on the early stages of development.

Harmful influences

Electrical and electronic waste and waste batteries have the character of hazardous waste and according to the waste management law must not be mixed with other types of waste.

This type of waste contains poisonous and often carcinogenic substances, so it is dangerous for human health, the environment and our planet.

The biggest threat to water pollution is mercury, which can easily accumulate in living organisms through the food chain, and mostly through fish. It can cause damage to various organs, including the kidneys and brain.

Excessive exposure to lead causes damage to the central and peripheral nervous system, cardiovascular system, kidneys and reproductive organs.

We can’t throw things that far without them coming back to us. They will return through polluted air, polluted soil and polluted water loaded with metals originating from improperly disposed, landfilled and improperly treated electrical and electronic waste.

The law provides for a misdemeanor sanction for natural persons, a fine of 60 euros in Denar equivalent, if it is found that waste electrical equipment from households is left as unsorted municipal waste.
